康康早上起床见到爸爸第一眼就说:Happy Birthday!

一整天,花精心做了莎拉,牛排,蛋糕,康康跟爸爸一起吹灭生日蜡烛。

花说:许一个心愿吧。

爸爸说:建造一个让人害怕的小企业 (build a formidable small company。:-)

强的生日餐单:

  • 主打是迷迭百里香煎腰眼牛排,配辣根和黄油
  • 配餐是中东味的酸奶黄瓜沙拉,和西红柿奶酪罗勒沙拉
  • 面食是免揉面包 (搭的蘸料做了两种,迷迭香葡萄醋浸橄榄油蘸料和hummus)
  • 甜点是提拉米苏,糖炒栗子
  • 偷懒的菜单。呵呵。都可以提前做好,没有多大油烟

  

Persian Cucumber Yogurt (Maast-o Khiar)

  • 1 (32 ounce) container plain yogurt
  • 3 English cucumbers, peeled and cubed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoons dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Caprese Salad

  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Rib Eye Steak

rosemarry, Thyme, garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil smear on meat; marinate overnight

hot cast iron, 5 minutes each side, let rest; cover with loose foil

get burnt pieces with wine, make saurce for meat

with crushed pepper butter, horseradish

No-knead Bread

3 cups flour, 1.5 cup water, //2tsp yeast; overnight

fold; let rest for 10 minutes; fold on floured kitchen towel, let rest for 2 hours; bake with dutch oven, with lid 30 minutes, 450 degree; without lid, 20 minutes.

serve with butter spread

Hummus spread

  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
  • 1/3 cup pitted Spanish Manzanilla olives
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Tiramisu

ladies fingers dip in liquer (2TBSB)+3/4 cup espresso, layer on rectangle baking dish; brush with liquid so completley moist

1 8-oz mascapone cheese, 1/2 sugar, 2-speed for 2 minutes, gradually add 8 oz whipping cream until fluffy

spread the cheese mixture to the layer of ladys fingers; sprinkle grated dark chocolate; add another layer of ladies fingers repeat the liquer treatment; spread rest of cheese mixture; liberally sprinkle cocoa powder

wrap inplastic wrap and rest in fridge for overnight.

Roast Chestnut

cuts on top; water and sugar and boil for an hour; next day, oven roast at 375 degree.
